Gentle winter holiday in Styria

The Almenland Nature Park is part of Eastern Styria and is located in the middle of Styria, only 50 km north of the regional and cultural capital of Graz. With its 125 connected alpine pastures, the Almenland is one of the largest alpine pasture areas in Europe.

When the sun shines over deeply snow-covered alpine pastures, glittering snow and icy streams, the Almenland unfolds its full charm. Then cross-country skiers glide here over the sunniest trails far and wide or skiers swing from the mountain slopes.

Perhaps you will then also unpack your hiking boots or snowshoes and trudge along the winter hiking trails through the snow. Or you can register for a horse-drawn sleigh ride, which is also offered for romantics under the starry night sky.

Tip: This year there are again moonlight hikes from the Stoakoglhütte - with or without snowshoes!

See you in winter.

Children belong in the fresh air!

In terms of the number of kilometers of slopes or lifts, the Almenland is only a small ski area, but one that is geared towards the needs of families. Magic carpets, toboggan runs and fairy-tale meadows await the enthusiastic young guests who are also in good hands in the ski schools, which take care of the piste fleas. Parents are pleased with the manageability of the facilities, the culinary offer and, last but not least, the low prices.

The sunniest trails far and wide!

Always with a wide view of the alpine pastures and past enticing rest stops, our cross-country trails are among the most popular in the country! The sunny trails between Teichalm and Sommeralm have been awarded the Styrian trail seal of approval for their quality and are a magnet for both skaters and cross-country skiers who prefer the classic style. Equipment rental completes the offer.

Relax high above the sea of fog!

When the fog settles in the basin and doesn't want to leave, when the sun and light are missing and a winter depression is on the horizon, then it is time for a few relaxing days on the alpine pasture. Here the sun is shining and the sea of fog is far below. Use this time to get "winter fit" - with saunas, massages and food rich in vitamins! And when you are wrapped up in warm blankets in front of the fireplace and look out over the alpine landscape, then "November days" are no longer bad!
