The greatest treasures of the Almenland

The Almenland and the whole of East Styria are full of treasures which are just waiting to be discovered. Bon vivants may be attracted to a tasting session with one of our producers of specialities, nature lovers can explore a gorge or cave, and there are castles, palaces and museums for culture lovers; the Capital of Culture Graz is also only 50 km away.

There is a lot on offer for families: from the summer toboggan run and the climbing parkto the bathing lakes and the wildlife parks. You can also go on a trip in the Feistritztalbahn steam train or explore a cave - children are sure to not get bored in the Almenland!

Winter fun – for young and old

When the sun shines over snow-covered mountain pastures, glittering snow and streams with frozen banks, the Almenland reveals a very special charm!  That is when cross-country skiers glide far and wide on the sunniest trails and everyone who wants to “warm up” enjoys the services offered by the wellness facilities high above the blanket of mist!

The fine little skiingareas with their charm, their manageable size and their low prices and thus particularly lend themselves to a family holiday. The classes offered by the ski schools, which touchingly take care of the budding skiers, are also suitable for this.

The magic carpets and children’s lifts delight parents who have a lot of fun tobogganing and sliding over the slopes with their offspring.
If you primarily want to enjoy the winter landscape, you should unpack your hiking boots or snowshoes and  trudge through the snow along the winter hiking trails. Rides in a horse-drawn sleigh or full moon walks are offered for people with a romantic nature.
A winter holiday in the Almenland Nature Park is wonderfully relaxing in any case!

Summer, sun and exercise

A holiday in the Almenland Nature Park without exercise in the fresh air of the mountain pastures is almost inconceivable – even if that is just a walk around the lake. Lovers of hiking are particularly well served here: numerous trails and mountain peaks provide a varied programme for every level of ability. Families may explore the raised bog and then take a pedalo on Teichalm Lake.

The Almenland is also a paradise for equestrians. Beginners can make their first attempts on horseback and advanced riders can make use of the special offers such as Western-style riding or equestrian vaulting.

The numerous options for leisure activities in the Almenland include a variety of cycling routes, as well as golf.
E-bikes are offered for hire for relaxed cycling.
