The soft-mountain-winter offerings
Snowshoeing is a trendy new sport that offers an intense natural experience with no athletic skills (as with skiing for example), away from the slopes and cross-country ski runs. Modern snowshoes that prevent sinking into deep snow mean you are not tied to specific routes. You can also rent snowshoes for your initial attempts. For beginners, we recommend a guided tour that teaches you all of the snowshoeing essentials.
Snowshoe rentals:
Stoakoglhütte on the Sommeralm and Schneesportschule Reisinger on the Teichalm.
Snowshoes are simply buckled to your hiking boots, so there is no need to specify your shoe size when you make a reservation.
Winter hiking trails:
Around the Teichalmsee and out to the Gasthaus Holzmeister, winter hiking trails are groomed when there is sufficient snow – for a safe and unhurried walk in the clear winter air!
Snowshoeing in the Almenland
These are our hiking tips
to explore the beauty of the nature park also in winter! Enjoy the silence and seclusion of the glittering white winter landscape while trudging through the snow. Simply hire the right snowshoes and set off on a winter adventure on the Teichalm and Sommeralm.

Winter Hiking in the Nature Park
The frosty season also has a lot to offer walkers and hikers. Winter hiking is the most comfortable way to enjoy an intensive nature experience on well-prepared winter hiking trails without having to excel in sports.
The specially prepared trails with good signposting, away from the cross-country ski trails and pistes, allow you to enjoy winter nature in all its beauty.
Teichalm:
Around the Teichalmsee, winter hiking trails are prepared when there is enough snow - for a safe and comfortable walk in the clear winter air!
St. Kathrein am Offenegg:
A wonderful winter hike above St. Kathrein, which mainly leads along municipal roads and is therefore easy to walk even when there is more snow.
