A relaxing trail with resting areas.

The Teichalm bog is 7,500 to 9,000 years old and could have originated from a lake. The raised bog that still exists today is probably the last remnant of a once large, contiguous raised bog landscape in the valley floor of the Teichalm and Sommeralm. Adjacent to the small upland moor is a swamp forest and low moor meadows, which are very species-rich, for example the sheath cottongrass, the purple moor gentian, the carnivorous sundew and various orchid species grow here. The wooden plank path through the moor was completely renovated in 2020, and the boards along the path provide information about the flora and fauna along the way. The Teichalmsee lake right next to it, with its wooden ox, is the landmark of the Almenland Nature Park. Created in 1972, the lake is actually a flood retention basin, but today it is an indispensable excursion and recreation destination.

The path around the Teichalmsee in the Almenland Nature Park is flat and gravelled, the path leads through the moor over wooden footbridges. This path is also suitable for wheelchairs and baby carriages.

For a longer tour, the moorland nature trail can also be combined with the Teichalm-Round Trip. It is the ideal tour for all first-time alpine excursionists.

Rounding the Teichalmsee, the hike extends out to the campground Holzmeister a bit higher up. On the way back, it passes the Harrer-Hütte where you can taste mountain cheese and yoghurt.

Back on the Teichalm you continue on the Moor Nature Trail.
