The Karl-Wirt is right behind the Weiz Gorge at the gateway to the Almenland in St. Kathrein am Offenegg. Here, Styrian cooking is combined with cosiness and good entertainment. Due to its large premises, the restaurant is perfect for family parties, company celebrations, excursions and all kinds of events in East Styria.
The Häusler family is particularly proud of its Almenland trout. This is reared in their own fish ponds. The ponds and the fish smokehouse can be visited in a guided tour. Of course, the rainbow trout is also served in the restaurant or can be bought “direct from the farm” and in the Häusler market café.
The restaurant also has leisure facilities with bowling alleys, go-kart tracks, shooting ranges and much more. The Karl-Wirt is accessible to disabled people and child-friendly and is a perfect destination for trips in poor weather.
The starting point for the mill valley hiking trail is also at the Karl Wirt restaurant. Since May, it has been possible to visit a completely renovated show mill on the trail.
