The Rauchstubenhaus in the community of Edelschachen is a popular destination for those interested in folklore. The building was occupied until 1967 and was acquired by the market town of Anger in 1968. After the needed renovations, it became home to a museum of local history with more than 300 exhibits that remind us of the hard work on farms in decades past.
The Rauchstube remains intact to this day. Easter hams ripen here during the winter, and when groups come to visit, the fire is lit and the “Häfennigl” (tasty cake from a pot) is prepared over the open fireplace.
Immerse yourself in the way of life of our ancestors. In the more than 300-year-old Rauchstubehaus, you will learn about joys and sorrows in the old days. Old facilities, tools, old documents or much more hint at the past. If ordered in advance, heating is also provided and the "Häfennigl" is prepared by the open fire.
