A varied hiking trail from the Kesselfall valley bottom to the foot of the Schöckl west side and back via Glett to the Gasthaus Sandwirt.
The Kesselfall Gorge is one of the most popular hiking routes in the Graz region. This hike is particularly popular with families with children due to its proximity to the water. The wildly romantic path and the accessible waterfall lead over stairs and bridges. An ideal hiking trail for families and hikers who are looking for interesting and intoxicating nature work. A detour to the stone gate is also worthwhile on the way back.
From GH Sandwirt you go back approx. 200 m to the start of the mountain road, which then leads uphill past 4 farmsteads to a pasture. From here you can follow the winding road to Semriach on the opposite Hausberg slope. Immediately the view opens in the direction of West Styria to the Koralpe and in the north to the Semriacher Umlandberge. After the cattle pasture you walk through a forest and then you come to the municipal road. From here you can take the shorter route R6 via the Glettbachgraben to Glett, past three farmsteads and from the Ploder farm (Gletthöhe 8) the descent through the beech forest into the Glettgraben to GH Sandwirt. However, the hiking trail R6a is also highly recommended, because after reaching Gemeindestraße it turns right to Schöcklstraße. From Schöcklstraße you only have 500 m to GH Theißlwirt, where you can recover from the hardships of the ascent with good Styrian food. From here it goes back along Schöcklstraße to the Glett junction. Now you hike down to the Gletthöhe. There the hiking trails R6 and R6a come together, which in turn lead to GH Sandwirt.
