Yellow and green spring in the Almenland Nature Park

1st - 17th May 2020

When the last remnants of snow are still lying on the mountain pastures and the first green tips of the crocuses are appearing, there is already a sea of flowers spreading across the valleys: the bright yellow of the dandelion meadows combines with the new green of the forests and the blue sky above to form a wonderful spring symphony.

This is the time of the Dandelion Festival – the yellow and green spring in the Almenland Nature Park!

The Dandelion Festival combines a varied series of events with fresh spring food.Under the slogan “Dandelion meets ALMO®”, the ALMO-Genusswirte (restaurants certified under the “Genuss Region Österreich” initiative) invite you to stop for a bite to eat with imaginative dishes. The inns join in with traditional, down-to-earth dandelion dishes. Guided tours, seminars, hikes, workshops related to herbs and a children’s afternoon with a pony walk complete the programme.

Fresh spring experiences

During the Dandelion Festival, there is a  varied programme for families and all those who simply want to enjoy the spring. Walk through dandelion meadows, enjoy the marvellous weather and taste your way through the unusual dandelion menus of our restaurants. There is also a varied series of events which can be attended by the whole family. The programme is varied, from hikes and guided tours to culture and theatre.

Fresh spring food

During the Dandelion Festival, our landlords work hard to conjure up fresh, tasty dishes for the guests. The focus is on the dandelion, but also on the spring herbs and, in particular, regional products. “A feast for the eyes too” – the dishes not only taste exquisite, but also look appealing. Creativity is not neglected here.
